Adriatique’s DJ set from Hatshepsut temple in Egypt, filmed by Cercle

Check out Adriatique’s recent 2-hour DJ set from Hatshepsut Temple in Luxor, Egypt!

The 3,500-year-old temple – also known as the ‘Holy of Holies’ – provided the perfect backdrop for the Swiss duo’s melodic underground sound.

It was filmed by Cercle, popular for broadcasting similar shows in completely unique locations around the world. Enjoy!!

Adriatique biography

Both living in Zurich, each regularly performing as DJ’s, and both named Adrian S., perhaps it was inevitable that Adrian Shala and Adrian Schweizer would meet in 2008 and form a near instant friendship. But it was the professional bond that followed for which we’re lucky, a bond that would help them to ascend within the underground dance music community as the production and DJ duo known as Adriatique.

Inevitabilities aside, the basis of any great partnership is how one complements the other, which in the case of the Adrians, was evident from the outset. While one had honed his musical chops with hip-hop, 90’s dance and house, the other dwelled in deep melodies and European techno. One may gravitate towards the studio while the other can’t resist the temptation of the booth.
