AlphaTheta releases battery-powered all-in-one DJ system, the ‘OMNIS-DUO’

AlphaTheta just announced their first DJ controller to the market – the ‘OMNIS-DUO’. The release comes less than two days after parent company AlphaTheta Corporation announced AlphaTheta as a new sister brand of Pioneer DJ.

The battery-powered all-in-one DJ system has a Bluetooth audio output and utilizes Rekordbox onboard controlled via the glass touchscreen, so no need to take your laptop or cables to a party.

The OMNIS-DUO is lightweight and compact enough to fit in a large backpack, with the minimalist design adopting a distinctive sleek indigo colour.

USB Type-A drives and SD cards can be plugged straight into the unit, as well as a PC/Mac via the USB Type-C terminal if you want to use Rekordbox Performance mode.

Additionally, the Wi-Fi function means easy access to tracks on a PC/Mac, smartphone, or the cloud without a wired connection (note: The unit currently has no access to streaming services).

Putting aside the US 1,500 price tag, its simple user-friendly layout and design function is obviously targeted at casual users, but also at mobile DJs as a backup option for gigs.

Working DJs can use the professional XLR output, while the RCA terminals are perfect for plugging in monitor speakers at home.

The release came in conjunction with AlphaTheta’s new portable wireless DJ speaker, the WAVE-EIGHT, which utilizes ”SonicLink” ultra-low-latency wireless technology, allowing DJs to mix without any connected wires between the speaker and their DJ controller.

The OMNIS-DUO has two modes for the touchscreen – Light and Dark – so users can easily see the displayed information, even in bright outdoor settings.

For mains power, you can connect the AC adapter or plug in a compatible power bank (45W or more) to the dedicated USB Type-C terminal, and you can also switch to Eco mode to extend the life of the battery, which is up to 5 hours.

As the first-ever all-in-one DJ system to feature Bluetooth, the OMNIS-DUO opens up brand-new possibilities with no limits to the places you can hold a party.

Users can adjust the volume and EQ, apply effects, change the tempo, use Hot Cues, and scratch – just like you would with tracks prepared in advance.

Serato DJ Lite support is coming this summer.

The OMNIS-DUO is available now priced at $1,499 US / 1,700 Euro / £1,400 / AUD 3,400. Visit the product page here for more information.
