Carl Cox’s mobile disco postponed; Sydney goes into another lockdown

Carl Cox mobile disco Sydney

The Sydney date for Carl Cox & Eric Powell’s mobile disco has been postponed until the end of this year after a new wave of Coronavirus lockdowns in NSW.

Whilst the Sydney show was postponed last week after a more targeted, week-long lockdown was announced, The NSW premier, Gladys Berejiklian, has more recently upgraded the lockdown orders to two weeks, this time covering the greater Sydney area.

The Sydney show, which completely sold out in just 20 minutes a few weeks ago, has now been moved to Friday 10th December and will still take place at Sydney’s newly renovated Ivy Precinct in the CBD. It was originally scheduled for last Saturday, 26th June.

Let’s talk about the event, not lockdowns…

For those fortunate enough to secure tickets, the internationally renowned disco & house music connoisseurs are set to go back-to-back for a showstopping eight-hour set. They’ll be digging deep into their extensive record collections to showcase the best of Funk, Soul, Disco & House music classics that they were brought up with, and that have influenced them through the decades.

As well as an uninterrupted 8-hour set from Carl & Eric, the duo are promising a full production that includes dancers, aerial performers, a trumpet player and live percussion.

Any chance for tickets?

Whilst tickets were unavailable when we last checked (via Eventbrite), according to their Facebook event, the refund deadline for existing ticket holders (in case anyone can’t make the new date) is the 5th July, and any refunded tickets will go back on general sale. So who knows, you might get lucky!?

Carl & Eric’s mobile disco will take place on Friday 10th December at The Ivy Precinct – Sydney’s newly renovated super club. Doors open 7pm – 3am, strictly over 18s. Also check out the official website.

More about Carl & Eric’s mobile disco

‘MOBILE DISCO’ has become a global institution, playing to sold out shows at some of the world’s most picturesque locations including Brisbane, Melbourne, Adelaide, Perth, Queenstown, New York, Darwin and Bali.

Carl & Eric explain: “Why did we call it ‘Mobile Disco?’ it was going to be a one-off party for friends and family. We also thought a ‘Mobile Disco’ was the last thing people would expect us to do. Now more than ten years later, we have been fortunate enough to set up ‘Mobile Disco’ in some fantastic, picturesque locations around the world, playing the music that has influenced us from when we were kids to now.
