Junior Jack ‘My Feeling’: a deeper dive into the funky house classic (Friday Flashback)

Junior Jack – ‘My Feeling’ (album artwork)

This week on Friday Flashback, we’re showcasing the iconic funky house track ‘My Feeling’ – a disco-inspired classic that really needs no introduction. It’s by Italian DJ/Producer Junior Jack, real name Vito Lucente.

Having entered the top 40 in the UK charts, My Feeling was originally released on Noise Traxx back in 1999 and was built around vocal samples from ‘Saturday Love’ by Alexander O’Neal and also ‘One More Time’ by Sister Sledge.

According to Wikipedia, Vito Lucente produced several acid house and Eurodance projects, mostly in collaboration with Eric Imhauser. However, his more famous project was as producer of the synthpop/rap group ‘Benny B’, with vocalist Amid Gharbaoui, DJ Daddy K and dancer Serge “Perfect” Nuet.

Whilst it might be considered a little on the commercial side, this 90s classic can’t be denied!

This 6-minute ‘Kick ‘n Deep Mix’ is where it’s at. Enjoy!

Where to grab a copy?

If you wish to add it to your collection, you can grab a copy on Vinyl, MP3, or CD via Amazon.
