Bramley-Moore Dock warehouse in Liverpool hosted 6,000 people over two days last weekend as part of a Covid pilot scheme. The afternoon gigs were sponsored by the U.K. government, designed to gather data around how UK nightlight can safely restart again.
It’s been over 12 months since UK clubs were forcibly shut due to the pandemic, so this is definitely a step in the right direction!
The event was hosted by internationally-renowned local DJ & label owner, Yousef of Circus Recordings, who invited other DJs such as Sven Vath, Hot Since 82, The Blessed Madonna and Jayda G.
In a recently published video by DJ Mag, Yousef said: ‘’Today is all about moving forward to the 21st June. The point of the 21st June is to have no restrictions, so today is a step forward for that’’.
Once inside the venue, no social distancing or mask wearing was required, although all attendees had to provide a negative Covid test 24 hrs beforehand and were also tested on the way out.
This was all part of the UK Government’s Events Research Programme (ERP).
Hats off to Yousef!
