A new book documenting two decades of influential London jungle and drum & bass institution Rupture is set to arrive this November.
We Are Rupture: Signals from the Heart of the Rave will be released by Velocity Press on 13 November 2026, bringing together stories, photography, poetry and personal reflections from the community that has grown around the club night and record label.
Founded by DJs Mantra and Double O in 2006, Rupture began as a London club night focused on the jungle and breaks-driven side of drum & bass. It later expanded into a record label in 2012, while retaining a strong connection to underground sounds and the culture surrounding them.

Rather than presenting a straightforward chronological history, the new book looks at Rupture through the people who have been part of it. Contributions come from dancers, artists and event producers, with Fabio, DJ Storm, Tim Reaper and DJ Flight among those featured. Themes include community, Blackness and sound system heritage, alongside broader reflections on why rave culture continues to matter.
The 196-page hardback is also described by its publisher as a document of “20 years of modern jungle”, reflecting Rupture’s position between the music’s foundations and the newer generation of artists that has emerged around the scene.
That balance has long been central to the night. Rupture’s lineups have regularly placed established jungle and drum & bass names alongside newer producers and DJs, helping the party become an important meeting point between different generations of the music.
The book also carries added significance following the closure of Corsica Studios, the South London venue that became Rupture’s long-term home. The club closed earlier this year after hosting the night for the best part of two decades, making the book partly a record of a physical space that became closely tied to Rupture’s identity.
Speaking about the wider purpose behind the project, Mantra said:
“This isn’t about us; this isn’t about Rupture; This is about the music being driven forward and the whole culture, leaving a legacy and wanting it to build.”
— DJ Mantra, Rupture co-founder
We Are Rupture is priced at £25 and will be available from 13 November through Velocity Press.
