Crate Connect review (our verdict)
Overview:
Crate Connect positions itself as an all-in-one DJ pool, meaning it caters mostly to open-format DJs — think mobile & event DJs, commercial-club DJs, and so on — rather than focusing on a single genre.
As shown in the genre list below, it covers 80+ sub-genres, alongside Top 40 and curated playlists for common event scenarios.

The interface is straightforward and easy to navigate, with tracks filtered by genre, BPM, key, artist, title or year. Music discovery is well covered too, with monthly charts, a Trending Now section and curated playlists, making it quick to find what you’re looking for.
In terms of track versions and DJ tools, Crate Connect offers a solid range of DJ-friendly edits, including intro versions (radio and club), remixes, and transitions. Alongside standard MP3s, some tracks are also available in WAV format, which is something that very few DJ pools offer.
The mobile-optimized version of the website Crate Connect GO works well for browsing and saving tracks to crates for later download.
Overall, the service is a practical option for DJs who value variety and simplicity, without needing the niche specialisation or feature-heavy approach — and higher price tags — of some alternatives.
Just keep in mind that one limitation is the back catalogue. They prioritise newer releases, with most tracks remaining available for up to a year, so it’s not the strongest option if you need a deep archive of older music.
