Out of nowhere, Pioneer DJ has released a 4-channel all-in-one DJ system – their first to have use of all 4 channels in standalone mode – the ‘OPUS QUAD’.
Aesthetically and design wise, the unit is a big change in direction when compared to Pioneer’s other 4-channel standalone ‘club-style’ offering, the XDJ-XZ – noting that it isn’t a replacement.
Based on its ‘’sophisticated’’ look and hefty price tag, it appears to be aimed at up-market mobile & event DJs, offering all-new tech and modernized connections that compete with Denon’s Prime 4.
In addition to use of 4 decks in standalone mode, some key features on the OPUS-QUAD include the 10.1-inch glass touchscreen, built-in WiFi (for streaming and cloud library access in rekordbox), individual screens above each deck, market-leading sound quality (thanks to the 32-bit converter – the same found in Pioneer’s new industry-standard mixer), on-board track analysis, on-board beat FX, 16 hot cue pads, and full size mechanical jog wheels.
As for connections and media sources, it supports Bluetooth, has 2 x USB Type-A ports on the top panel (to be expected), USB connectivity for SSDs/hard drives, a zone output allowing you to control multiple rooms, a separate USB to connect your laptop, and of course the WiFi we’ve already mentioned.
In addition to Pioneer’s rekordbox, the OPUS-QUAD will also support Serato DJ Pro in European summertime 2023.
Its available now priced at $3,200 USD, making it easily the most expensive all-in-one DJ system on the market. Visit the product page for full specs.
Wondering where to buy the Opus-Quad? Try Sweetwater if you’re in the US or Gear4Music for UK/European locations. Note: you’ll pay about $1,300 more from Australian retailers.
