Secret Project Festival is heading to Portugal’s beautiful Algarve region for 3 nights this summer!
Put on by non-other than Insomniac Events, the team responsible for the Electric Daisy Carnival (or the ‘EDC’ franchise), the travelling festival will showcase a hand-curated underground lineup of DJs and live acts across 3 different stages.
Scheduled for June 17 – 19, 2022, expect 3 days of House, Techno, Drum & Bass and Disco from 4pm till late.
On a house & techno tip, artists include Boris Brejcha, Richie Hawtin, Hot Since 82, Kolsch, Sven Vath, Patrick Topping, Marco Carola, Richy Armed, The Martinez Brothers, Charlotte de Witte, Loco Dice, Jamie Jones, and heaps more (full list below). Adam Beyer’s popular techno label Drumcode have their own stage at the event.
For Drum & Bass heads, Chase & Status also have their own stage, with names such as Sub Focus, Andy C, Wilkinson, and Shy FX all on the bill.
In addition, Eric Prydz, Paul Kalkbrenner and Reinier Zonneveld will all be performing live sets.
Secret Project Festival has already had successful editions in Los Angeles, Miami and Amsterdam, and festival-goers can no doubt expect the kind of cutting-edge audiovisual production you’d expect from Insomniac.
The festival is apparently taking the place of ‘EDC Portugal’ for 2022.
The location
Portugal’s Algarve region is historically one of the most sought after holiday destinations in Europe and is quickly becoming the place to experience the world’s biggest music festivals.
Less than an hour’s drive from the region’s main transport hub, Faro airport, lies the idyllic town of Portimão – the location of Secret Project Portugal 2022. The event takes place at the town’s main beach, Praia da Rocha – a relatively undiscovered sandy paradise overlooking the Atlantic Ocean.

Ticket & accommodation combos are available via their official ticketing partner Festicket, starting at €129 (Euro). A VIP option, which includes ‘‘sea access’’, starts at €199. For cheap European flights and other accommodation options, you can also try Skyscanner.
