Revisiting Underworld’s Iconic ‘Two Months Off’ – Friday Flashback

For this Friday Flashback, we’re shining a light on a classic among classics: “Two Months Off” by Underworld! The track dropped in September 2002 as the main single from their album “A Hundred Days Off,” the first one without Darren Emerson who left in 2001.

With those unforgettable hypnotic synths and Karl Hyde’s captivating vocals, the track made it to number 12 on the UK Singles Chart and Number 2 on the US Dance Chart.

It was also remixed by artists like King Unique (after the original, the ‘Sunspots Vocal Mix’ is next best in my humble opinion!), Tim Green, Pete Tong, and others!

The spoken vocals are by Juanita Boxill, who also features in “Little Speaker” on the album.

Underworld, made up of Brits Karl Hyde and Rick Smith, are of course known for their innovative approach to production and live performances, earning them a fiercely loyal fan base and numerous accolades.

Without further ado, crank up the volume and enjoy!!

Where to grab a copy?

If you wish to add Two Months Off to your collection, you can grab a vinyl copy via Discogs or the CD and MP3 versions via Amazon.

Ever since I could get into 'proper' nightclubs, I've loved everything about the underground dance scene. The short story is, having always been an avid music collector, I used to DJ at a handful of bars & clubs around Europe through the 2000s - playing out mostly lounge, funky house, and open-format/commercial stuff. I’m also a radio show host and Founder here at The DJ Revolution.
